Woke up at 5:00 this morning, on my birthday and couldn't get back to sleep. Decided to get up and drive out to Tyninghame beach to try and retake the photos of the grand canyon-like rock formations on the beach along the corner. Got there at 6:15. Very peaceful with beautiful sunlight occassionaly. Haven't made up my mind yet about which (if any) of the photos are useable. For many of the shots I set the aperture to as large as possible to limit the DoF but the upshot being that I was too far away and some of the shots look simply out of focus. There are still some good ones worth working on. The only one which really springs out and got uploaded to my TP gallery is this one of the crocodile log.
Used the cheapo tripod which toppled over damaging the lens hood and scratching the uv filter. Without the hood the lens would have cracked. It was also a complete nightmare trying to set up the tripod head to catch the image I was after. Every shot was a struggle and was way too fiddly. At £13.99 it's limitations are far too great for it to be of any use so have already looked into buying a Giottos which got a good review in Digital Camera.
